La Rosa Carménère selected by Tim Atkins as one Chile’s 3 best Carmenère wines
In his 2018 Chile report Tim Atkin, renowned British journalist and wine critic, awarded 95 points to our La Rosa Carménère 2014,
placing it among the three best Carmenéres from Chile. In his words: “using fruit from lots 62, 63, 64 and 65 of La Rosa’s El Sauce vineyard, this marries Carmenère with 5% Cabernet Franc in 2014. It’s a structured, serious, yet effortlessly balanced expression of the variety that’s aromatic, leafy and pure. About as good as Chile’s signature grape gets. 2019-2029”
2018 HARVEST IS HERE
At the end of February, our winemaking and viticulture team started the 2018 harvest with the first base wines of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We estimate that we will finish with Carmenère grapes in the early May.
We are confident that we will have an excellent season if the weather continues to accompany us. The yields are higher than last year and the vineyards and foliage are very balanced allowing for the perfect maturity of our grapes.
We will share with you more details of the harvest progress and work in the winery that, as always, seeks to produce our unique quality wines.
